PRODUCTION OF GREEN DETTOL AS BACTERIAL INHIBITOR AND DISINFECTANT

نویسندگان

چکیده

The aim of this research is production disinfection (Dettol) contains herbal formula and study the efficacy it for inhibition pathogenic bacteria as comparing with traditional Dettol efficacy. In research, a disinfectant antiseptic was prepared similarly to industrial in terms composition, except active substance (chloroxylenol), which replaced by plant extract (thyme) compound (thymol) separately. total 50 samples hand swabs were collected randomly from children housewives student at university Baghdad. following species isolated identified microscopic morphology, morphological features on culture media, Vital Index Traditional Environmental Knowledge(VITEK2)System that Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia.coli, Bacillus cereus ,pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter cloacae. results showed highest antimicrobial activity belonged thymol. while lowest antibacterial effect thyme. Highest value minimum inhibitor concentration (mic) (0.09) thymol against staphylococcus aureus mic (6.25) thyme result bactericidal concertation (mbc) same (1.56)

Bacterial Disinfectant Efficacy Using Flow Cytometry

Flow cytometry is a rapid method to quantitate live and dead bacteria in a sample.1-4 It can be used to measure the efficacy of antimicrobial compounds by exposing organisms to the disinfectant and subsequently staining with permeant and impermeant DNA dyes. Test organism viability, measured using a 30-minute flow cytometry assay, showed comparable sensitivity with a standard 48-hour plate coun...

Electrochemical Investigation of Coconut Oil as Green Corrosion Inhibitor for ST37 Carbon Steel Protection

The corrosion inhibition of ST37 Carbon Steel in 1.0 M HCl by aquatic extract of coconut has been studied as a possible source of green inhibitor using the potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques. The aquatic extract of coconut have many advantages over classical techniques of sample preparation of plant gums (such as drying and solvent reflux).Pol...

Recognition of Betaine as an Inhibitor of Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Nitric Oxide Production in Activated Microglial Cells

Background: Neuroinflammation, as a major outcome of microglia activation, is an important factor for progression of neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. Microglial cells, as the first-line defense in the central nervous system, act as a source of neurotoxic factors such as nitric oxide (NO), a free radical which is involved in neuronal cell death. ...

Corrosion Inhibition of Mild Steel in Acidic Solution by Apricot Gum as a Green Inhibitor

The inhibitive effect of apricot gum AG on mild steel in 0.5 M phosphoric acid solution was investigated by potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy EIS, linear polarization resistance and electrochemical noise EN techniques. The inhibition efficiency increased with increasing AG concentration up to a certain value and decreased with increasing temperature. Polarizat...
